Description

This Sr. Manufacturing Engineer position reports to the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering.   The incumbent will interface with cross functional teams to support design activities for new product introduction and globalization of manufacturing.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with R&D to ensure that products under development are manufacturable.
  • Support transition of products from engineering to manufacturing.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, procedures and test fixtures for new products.
  • Implement improvements to reduce product cost and test cycle time in production.
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing build and test issues to ensure on-time shipments.
  • Work with suppliers, purchasing and QA to resolve technical issues.
  • Document Engineering Change Orders and coordinate their implementation.
  • Transition assemblies to outsource suppliers and maintain their engineering support.
  • Work with Sales to select appropriate assemblies and generate bills of material for new systems.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with experience
  • Proficient with change management protocols and ANSI 14.5 drafting standards.
  • Strong cross-functional manufacturing engineering skills (i.e. systems and electrical engineering).
  • System level skills: integration, schematics, controls, trouble shooting.
  • Familiar with vacuum and motion control system components.
  • Proven ability to solve manufacturing problems using good technical judgment.
  • Self- motivated and driven with the ability to prioritize and lead projects.
  • Hands-on technical trouble shooting skills. Team player. Enjoys fast paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly Desired Qualifications:
  • MS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 3+ years’ experience with power distribution and control systems.
  • Manufacturing experience: system integration, PLC, power distribution, system cabling, PCA fab.
  • Good understanding of the safety requirements/ regulatory compliance (e.g. SEMI S2, , S14, S22, NFPA79, EMI/ EMC etc.) which are inherent with this type of equipment
  • Familiarity with EPLAN, Teamcenter, NX, AutoCAD, Pro/E Wildfire 4.0.
  • Speaks Korean.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work with technicians in the lab or in manufacturing (equipment troubleshooting).
  • Equipment troubleshooting requires agility (climbing, leaning, kneeling) to get access to test points.
  • Equipment troubleshooting may require lifting of assemblies or tooling of up to 20 lbs.
