The Staff Electrical/Systems Engineer position reports to the Sr. Manager of Electrical Engineering and requires strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business.
  • Translate market requirements into system and subsystem requirements for design implementation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers on detailed design tradeoffs.
  • Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies and features that will improve next-generation product performance.
  • Provide guidance in problem identification and troubleshooting in entire range of complex engineering problems.
  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding complex engineering issues.
  • Generate product specifications.
  • Lead the development of design or modify engineering assemblies, layout/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of complex scope.
  • Lead, define, coordinate, perform and document engineering tests.
  • This position originates, develops and executes the most complex technical projects and influences future technology and product strategy. Focus, knowledge, judgment and intuition are required for those technical challenges that may not have an identified solution by customer, competitors or within industry. Works on critical complex issues that impact longer term product development and business success.
  • Originate, design, perform, collect data, analyze and compile reports on unusually complex engineering experiments and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
  • Develop innovative solutions as part of proven track record of significant technology contributions. Be widely recognized internally as one of the company's top experts in their field.
  • Leads through contribution to the development of new principles and concepts. Acts as a mentor to guide less experienced engineers. Involved in judging the approach and verifying the validity of technical strategies
  • Deep subject matter expert who consults with management and customers on exceptionally complex technical issues. 


Mandatory Qualifications:

  • MS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • Years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Years of experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Robust knowledge of closed-loop temperature and motion controls
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in electrical engineering and operation of devices and sensors such as: thermocouples, electric actuators, motors, heaters, pressure sensors, pressure controllers, flow controllers
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines
  • Capability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of industry standards: SEMI, NGPA79, NEC, UL, etc.
  • Expert level troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally about 10% of the time

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD programs: EPLAN and/or AutoCAD or other schematic capture software
  • Working knowledge of DeviceNet and EtherCAT bus system with PLCs
  • Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), development, troubleshooting and validation
  • Hands on experience with Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Pilz automation PLC
  • Interest and experience in power distribution and controls design of complex systems
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Experience TeamCenter, NX, ProE, SMARTSHEET
  • Working experience with teams located offshore (India, Korea, Taiwan, etc.)
