This Staff ME position reports to the Sr. Director of Mechanical Engineering and requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in CVD and/or ALD semiconductor reactor design. The incumbent will interface with cross functional teams to support design activities for new/modified designs and drive detailed design, validation and productization.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the world class mechanical engineering design of semiconductor reactor and support systems according to functional and engineering specifications that meet performance, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule targets.
  • Assure system quality and reliability by designing test procedures and coordinate testing.
  • Conduct technical reviews of process requirements, specifications, standards, and design.
  • Problem identification of a wide range of complex mechanical problems by taking a broad analytical perspective.
  • Ideation, evaluation, and recommendation of innovative solutions in a methodical and structured manner.
  • Conduct concept and feasibility studies, Research and Development, and validation of new and modified designs.
  • Own and/or direct support personnel in the generation of detailed engineering documentation required to effectively manufacture components and subsystems for prototypes and volume manufacturing.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • BSME with years or MSME years of experience.
  • Proficiency with major CAD / CAE engineering tools.
  • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5, SEMI, and other relevant standards and their use.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering models and tools.
  • Familiarity with basic FEA analysis tools for structural and thermal design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the development and design of critical mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor processing equipment, including process chambers, vacuum systems, gas and liquid chemical delivery, and controls in temperature, pressure, valve, and motion.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying classical fluid, heat & mass transfer techniques to propose concepts, design experiments, evaluate feasibility, characterize and improve systems.
  • Ability to act as a mentor to peers, including actively participating in design reviews, reviewing and providing feedback on others work including presentations, drawings and models.
