Overview:
Client is seeking a highly talented electrical engineer with demonstrated experience in digital circuit and FPGA design, development, analysis, implementation and test of high performance frequency domain digital signal processing systems. This engineer will be responsible for systems engineering, detailed design aspects, planning and execution of projects. Projects may be for new and/or existing metrology products. This work requires the ability to understand and make decisions based upon fundamental engineering principles and is performed with minimal direction. This position exercises considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of assignments.
 
Responsibilities:
 

• Work with marketing to develop specifications for new products.
• Refine product specifications into complete sets of system requirements.
• Develop solution options and select the optimal solution that meets the system requirements.
• Perform analyses, simulations and experiments to verify that the chosen design will meet all system requirements.
• Define the baseline system architecture.
• Define requirements for each of the lower level components in the selected solution.
• Implement detailed designs.
• Generate and execute a test plan.
• Ensure commercially viable and manufacturable products.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
 
B.S. Engr., Physics or related, plus 9 - 11 years of related industry experience.  
M.S. Engr., Physics or related, plus 7 - 9 years of related industry experience. 
Ph.D. Engr., Physics or related, plus 4 - 7 years of related industry experience.  
 

• Applied digital circuit and FPGA design, analysis and commercialization experience of high performance frequency domain digital signal processing systems required. 
• Technical competence in electronic and software design processes required.
• Experience in designing electronic and software board-level products required, including schematic capture, circuit analysis and simulation and PCB layout management.
• Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog,  high frequency analog circuits, and  PCB signal integrity analysis helpful.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Independent and team oriented work habits required.
• Must be willing to travel.
